In the year 2000, as
the public markets deteriorated (over 2 trillion US dollars
in wealth were lost in the subsequent two years), businesses
found themselves challenged with everything from obtaining financing,
to replacing strategic partners and suppliers who fell victim
to the difficult economic climate.
Relationship Engineering Management (REM) was founded
by executives coming from a wide range of experiences who realized
the importance of helping companies maximize the strength of
their partnerships, suppliers, and employees, in order to help
them optimize operations, and weather a turbulent economy.
Through a series of
strong partnerships spanning Canada and the United States, Emerio
was formed to address the needs of Small and Medium Enterprises
(SMEs) who could no longer afford to maintain a large full-time
staff, but still required the expertise and dedication of professionals
in a number of service areas.
This new reality of “micro-engagement” allows SMEs
to engage skill sets needed to complete specific projects and
tasks without the overhead of full-time employees. Using industry
competitive fee structures, SMEs still maintain the professional
quality of the work done.
